Blueland Studio ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit bluelandstudio.com.au or engage our services, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under Australian privacy law.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Quote and contact form: name, email address, phone number, business details, and any message you submit.
- Stripe Checkout: business name, email address, phone number, current website URL, and payment card details (handled directly by Stripe — see section 3).
- PandaDoc Services Agreement: business name, ABN, business address, signatory name and role, and electronic signature.
- Project content: any logos, photographs, copy, credentials and other materials you provide so we can build and maintain your site.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard request data including IP address, user agent, timestamp and requested URL for security and reliability purposes.
- Cookies: we use a minimal set of essential cookies for site functionality. We do not run third-party advertising or social tracking pixels on this site.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to enquiries and prepare quotes
- Negotiate, sign and perform our Services Agreement
- Process payments and issue receipts/invoices
- Build, host and maintain your website
- Communicate with you about your project, billing or service status
- Comply with our legal and tax obligations
- Improve our services and the operation of our website
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for marketing purposes with third parties.
3. Third-party services we use
We use a small set of trusted service providers to deliver our services. Each receives only the information necessary for their function:
- Stripe (USA / Australia) — payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe receives your payment card details and contact data directly; we never store full card numbers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- PandaDoc (USA) — electronic signature of our Services Agreement. PandaDoc stores the signed PDF and audit certificate. See PandaDoc's privacy policy.
- Netlify (USA) — hosting of bluelandstudio.com.au and the websites we build for clients. See Netlify's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare (USA) — email routing for
@bluelandstudio.com.auaddresses and any client domains we manage. - Domain registrars — to register and renew your domain name. Your business name and contact details are submitted to the registrar in line with their requirements (some details may be public via WHOIS unless privacy protection is enabled).
Some of these providers process data outside Australia (primarily in the United States). We rely on their contractual commitments and their compliance with applicable data protection laws.
4. How we store and protect your information
Your data is held with the providers listed above and in our own working systems (encrypted email, password manager). We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures including TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest where supported, and access control limited to the people who need it.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by Australian law:
- Quote enquiries that don't proceed: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Active client records: retained for the duration of the engagement.
- Past client records, signed agreements, invoices, tax records: retained for at least seven (7) years to comply with Australian Taxation Office record-keeping requirements.
6. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete
- Request deletion of personal information that we no longer need (subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records)
- Withdraw consent for any non-essential processing at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your information

7. Data breach notification
If we become aware of an eligible data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988.
8. Cookies and analytics
This site does not run third-party advertising trackers. We may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (such as Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count anonymous page views and understand which pages are useful. These tools do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personally identifiable information.
9. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. We will notify clients with active engagements in writing of any material changes that affect their data.
